MEDIATION CERTIFICATION
Kenneth
Cloke
will conduct a Mediator Certification
Training Program twice annually for those
interested in becoming a Certified Mediator or
improving their skills in conflict resolution.
The Spring 2008 training will consist of the following
core elements:
SPRING 2008 MEDIATION TRAINING
March
8 Overview of historical, legal, social,
systemic, psychological and spiritual aspects
of conflict, and approaches to resolution. Includes
communication skills, story-telling, listening
techniques, and an eight-step mediation process.
March 15 Responding to intense
emotions, techniques for handling anger, fear,
grief and shame, responding to bullying, collaboratively
negotiating agreements, caucusing, addressing
cross-cultural conflicts, and ethical issues.
March 29 Overcoming impasse,
correcting power imbalances, reducing resistance
to settlement, and confirming commitments. Mediating
organizational, workplace, divorce, family, neighborhood
and litigated disputes.
April 12 How to establish a mediation
practice, conflict resolution systems design,
resolving complex multi-party, environmental and
public policy disputes, designing rituals, reaching
closure, opening heartfelt conversations, reaching
forgiveness and reconciliation, and resolving
global conflicts.
